Adrienne Rubin, Cantorial Soloist
Adrienne Rubin has been Temple Micah’s Cantorial Soloist since 1998 and has taught music in the Hebrew school since 1996. Adrienne enjoys leading the music of services in a way that encourages members of the congregation to participate. Before coming to Temple Micah, Adrienne served as the Cantor at the University of Rhode Island for the High Holy Days for five years. She also served as a guest cantor and a soloist for several synagogues in Massachusetts, where she lived until November 1994.Adrienne is currently a rabbinical student at Rabbinical Seminary International, based in New York City.
Adrienne graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition in June 1988. She studied voice and opera with Peter Elvins and coached with Thom Christoph. She has sung numerous operatic roles and has performed as a soloist in a wide variety of choral works.
Adrienne is often joined at services by her husband Doug and son Elian. She is an avid supporter of local nonprofits and has volunteered and/or worked with the Princeton Public Schools, the Princeton Education Foundation, VolunteerConnect, Send Hunger Packing Princeton, SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals, Women in Development and the local Pack, Troop and Council of the Boy Scouts of America. By day, she manages Business Development and Marketing for the MacLean Agency in Princeton, where she focuses on helping nonprofits and local businesses with their commercial and group insurance needs. She also consults independently with nonprofits and presents workshops and webinars on various aspects of nonprofit management.
