Rabbi Vicki Seren Tuckman was proudly ordained in 2003 at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion at the Cincinnati campus. She received a dual degree in Broadcast Journalism and English from Syracuse University.
Rabbi Tuckman has been serving for the past six years as the Director of Jewish Life at URJ Camp Harlam. Her work continues during the off-season, as well, as a member of the professional staff at Camp Harlam. Until the spring of 2012, she served in the role of Education Specialist for the URJ’s Congregational Consulting Group, helping congregational-based Religious Schools across North America in all areas of curriculum development and educational support. Prior to this position, Rabbi Tuckman was the Regional Educator for the URJ’s Pennsylvania Council, focusing her work on 54 congregations in Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and West Virginia.
Her pulpit and student work includes a diverse range of experiences from classroom teaching at all age levels, multiple Hillel settings and a boarding school. She first worked as an Assistant Rabbi at Congregation Beth Chaim with a focus on Preschool, Youth and Education. Rabbi Tuckman then worked at String of Pearls in Princeton as their Interim Rabbi and Director of Education.
Before attending seminary, she worked as a NFTY Youth Group Advisor, an Urban-Mitzvah Corp advisor, the Director of Gesher L’Kesher, a Jewish peer leadership program, and at a public relations agency in New York City. Rabbi Tuckman lives in Princeton, with her husband, Rob, and their 3 children Jonah, Elon and Yael and their faithful dog Jezebel.
